I’ve been busy, working on a new McKinsey study!
I know I haven’t posted in a while, but I’m still here!
I just started a new project at McKinsey called a “Transformation” project. For those of you who want to learn more about this sort of work, here’s a good article published by the firm on this (What is Business Transformation?).
The project is pretty fun, because it’s just like interview case preparations, but in real life!
Let me explain.
You see how some of your cases are profitability cases, or M&A cases? Well, in real life, you get a mix of multiple cases!
In my case, it’s a revenue growth, profitability, and operations cases combined all in one.
We are trying to make revenues grow by $300M, and EBITDA by $100M, by 2025.
HOW EXACTLY DO YOU ACHIEVE THIS?
This is when McKinsey comes in and saves the day (hopefully).
Here’s a simple analogy to better understand the role of consultants: we are like personal fitness coaches, but for business.
We assist companies and executives drive real change across their organization - which is VERY hard and time consuming.
It requires a lot of work, but is necessary to direct a billion dollar+ organization towards its goals.
